Provinces in North East China
The most northern province of China. Popular in winter for its skiing and Harbin Ice Festival, Heilongjiang is equally interesting in summer.
In the south, the mountains of Chengbai and the border with North Korea: In the north, the plains of ancient Manchuria. The city of Changchun was the capital of the puppet regime of Manchuko and the old palace is a popular tourist site.
In the Northeast of China, next to North Korea, Liaoning is known for its heavy industry and so little visited by tourists. However, there are many surprises to be found from the Red Beach of Panjin, the old Qing capital Shenyang, summer sun and sand in Dalian and a glimpse into a forbidden land at Dandong.
