Yabuli Ski Resort is the largest ski centre in China. Situated in the far north east of the country, near to Harbin city, snow is pretty much guaranteed for long periods every winter. This large ski resort has played host to several international competitions including the 1996 Winter Asian Games, the 2008 National Winter Games, and the 2009 Winter Universiade. The northeast of China has very long cold winters. Benefiting from this, Yabuli has about 150 skiing days per year, typically between November and April. 

The Yabuli Ski Resort is located on the 1,000 metre high Sun Mountain. It is about 80km southeast of Shangzhi, the nearest city. The resort is 170km from Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang Province. There are 17 ski runs on the mountain of various difficulties from children's and beginners through intermediate and advanced. In total, there are 31,075 metres of ski runs. The longest run is 3,842 metres in length. Ski hire facilities and a ski school are available there is also hotel accommodation and restaurants on site.
