During the 1930's and 40's, the north east of China was under the control of the Japanese. Many war crimes were committed, among them the infamous Unit 731. This section of the army medical core was responsible for medical testing. The used Chinese people as the guinea pigs. The victims were put under a variety of tests that are gruesome and upsetting to contemplate including being infected with anthrax and observed while you die or having limbs amputated and doctors timing how long it takes for you to bleed to death. Many of these experiments of this took place in Harbin at the site of this museum. The museum tells of the horrors committed. Not for the faint hearted, this museum is designed to shock.
