Regong art is a particular kind of painting and scupture form for Tibetan Buddhism. This branch of art originated within Tongren county (also known as Regong county) during the 14th and 15th centuries. The name means, "The place where your dream may come true." Regong art includes many elements such as pall painting, scroll painting (Thangka), sculpture in clay, wood, rock and brick, as well as embroidery and architectural painting. The works usually depict stories from the life of Sakyamuni Buddha and other Buddhist stories and Bodhisattva.
