Tianchi is an alpine lake in Xinjiang region of North West China. It is situated at an altitude of 2,000 m amongst the Tianshan mountain range. As the crow flies, it is about 42km from Ürümqi city though by road the distance is about 85km. To get there, one must first travel northeast to Fukang within Changji prefecture, then turn South for about 30km. The lake covers some 4.9 km² and is 105 metres deep. It was formed through glacial action. The remoteness and altitude gives the lake a feeling of extreme cleanliness. Clean air and touched environment.
